Turmeric root?

Anyone know where to buy fresh turmeric root? It looks a lot like gingerroot.

    Do you have Indian or Asian groceries near you? I’d start there. I have also had luck with asking produce managers (small grocers, Whole Foods, etc.) whether they have a source for something they don’t normally carry. Then again I’m in California.

    I’ve seen it at the Indian grocery store over on Broadway (next to the Korean market) and also being sold at Whole Foods (the old one, not sure if the new one has it or not). Of course, it was WAY more expensive at Whole Foods. Both places also have fresh curry leaves.

    Indian stores usually carry this… I have also seen frozen ones there
